چکیده
Common bean is a worldwide important crop. The development of varieties with durable resistance to diseases major challenge in common breeding. present study aimed at evaluating the phenotypic and molecular selection anthracnose population obtained by assisted backcrossing from IAC Formoso (resistant, donor parent) × BRS Pérola (susceptible, recurrent parent). Nine microsatellites (SSRs) one Sequence Tagged Sites (STS) markers previously linked ANT were used genotype this progeny, results showed that genotypes closest parent BC1F1 decreased number cycles necessary obtain advanced isogenic lines, potentiating use tool for early resistant cultivars. A total 31 % progeny was selected backcrossed again. derived second backcross (BC2F3) Carioca grain ideotype, 42 high under controlled conditions infection races 65 81. Superior plants evaluated natural fusarium wilt angular leaf spot, allowing two inbred lines higher anthracnose, wilt, spot postharvest quality traits such as yield, 100 seed weight, L value harvest darkening cooking time. approach outlined paper proved be effective simultaneously select disease without losing technological aspects bean.

Selection theory for marker-assisted backcrossing.
Marker-assisted backcrossing is routinely applied in breeding programs for gene introgression. While selection theory is the most important tool for the design of breeding programs for improvement of quantitative characters, no general selection theory is available for marker-assisted backcrossing. In this treatise, we develop a theory for marker-assisted selection for the proportion of the gen...
متن کاملMarker-assisted Backcrossing for Identification of Salt Tolerant Rice Lines
SSR or microsatellite markers are proved to be ideal for making genetic maps, assisting selection and studying genetic diversity in germplasm. SSR markers are playing important role to identify gene for salt tolerance that can be helpful for plant breeders to develop new cultivars. The experiment was conducted during the period from July 2009 to November 2010 in the experimental field and Biote...
متن کاملMarker-assisted backcrossing: a useful method for rice improvement
The world's population is increasing very rapidly, reducing the cultivable land of rice, decreasing table water, emerging new diseases and pests, and the climate changes are major issues that must be addressed to researchers to develop sustainable crop varieties with resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, recent scientific discoveries and advances particularly in genetics, genomics...
متن کاملIntrogression of blast resistance genes into the elite rice variety MR263 through marker-assisted backcrossing.
BACKGROUND Blast caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae is a significant disease threat to rice across the world and is especially prevalent in Malaysia. An elite, early-maturing, high-yielding Malaysian rice variety, MR263, is susceptible to blast and was used as the recurrent parent in this study. To improve MR263 disease resistance, the Pongsu Seribu 1 rice variety was used as donor of the ...
متن کاملGenetic diversity in cultivated carioca common beans based on molecular marker analysis
A wide array of molecular markers has been used to investigate the genetic diversity among common bean species. However, the best combination of markers for studying such diversity among common bean cultivars has yet to be determined. Few reports have examined the genetic diversity of the carioca bean, commercially one of the most important common beans in Brazil. In this study, we examined the...
